Supporting Your Child
Helping Your Child at Home
At our school, we believe that learning is most successful when children, families and teachers work together. Your support at home makes a significant difference to your child’s progress, confidence and enjoyment of learning. Below are some simple but powerful ways you can help.
Reading Together
Reading is one of the most important skills your child will ever learn. Sharing books at home — even for just 10 minutes a day — helps to:
- Build vocabulary and language skills
- Develop imagination and creativity
- Improve concentration
- Strengthen understanding across all subjects
Listening to your child read, talking about the story, or reading to them all counts. The key is making it a positive, enjoyable part of your daily routine.
Supporting Maths at Home: Times Tables Rock Stars
A secure knowledge of times tables helps children become confident and fluent mathematicians. We use Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) to give children a fun and engaging way to practise at home.
Regular short sessions on TTRS can help your child to:
- Improve mental recall of key number facts
- Build speed and accuracy
- Gain confidence with more complex maths later on
Even 5 minutes a day can make a big difference.

Working in Partnership With the School
Your child’s success is a team effort. We value the strong relationships we build with families and encourage open communication. Here are some ways we can work together:
- Keep up to date with school messages and class information
- Talk to us if you have concerns, we are always happy to help
- Celebrate your child’s efforts and progress, both at home and school
- Encourage routines that support learning, such as good sleep and punctual attendance
When children see the adults in their lives working together, they feel supported, motivated and ready to achieve their best.
